Dargun ist eine amtsfreie Landstadt im Norden des Landkreises Mecklenburgische Seenplatte in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Der Ort im Peenetal ist ein Grundzentrum.
Dargun liegt in einem Seitental der Peene, wenige Kilometer nördlich des Kummerower Sees und der Mecklenburgischen Schweiz. Das durch Eingemeindungen vergrößerte Gemeindegebiet Darguns grenzt im Norden an den Landkreis Vorpommern-Rügen und im Westen an den Landkreis Rostock. Die Gemarkung reicht vom Trebelufer bis zur fast auf Meeresspiegelhöhe liegenden Peene. Die Hügel der Umgebung erreichen ca. 40 m ü. NHN. Dargun liegt am Nordrand des Naturparks Mecklenburgische Schweiz und Kummerower See.
