Die Schlacht bei Lützen war eine der Hauptschlachten des Dreißigjährigen Krieges. Sie fand am 6. Novemberjul./ 16. November 1632greg. bei Lützen zwischen einem protestantischen, überwiegend schwedischen Heer unter Führung des schwedischen Königs Gustav II. Adolf und den überwiegend katholischen kaiserlichen Truppen unter Albrecht von Wallenstein statt.
Politisch wesentliche Folge der Schlacht war der Tod Gustav Adolfs auf dem Schlachtfeld. Auch die Kaiserlichen verloren mit Gottfried Heinrich zu Pappenheim einen prominenten Heerführer. Rein militärisch gesehen war die Schlacht ohne entscheidende Bedeutung.
