Die Schwäbische Alb, früher auch Schwäbischer Jura oder Schwabenalb genannt, ist ein Mittelgebirge in Süddeutschland und mit Kleinteilen in der Schweiz. Sie ist etwa 200 bis 220 km lang, 20 bis 40 km breit, inklusive des kleinen Schweizer Anteils 5887,35 km² groß und bis 1015,7 m ü. NHN hoch. Das Gebirge besteht aus mesozoischem Kalkstein aus der Zeit des Jura und gilt als eines der größten zusammenhängenden Karstgebiete in Deutschland.
