Die Kaiserpfalz Goslar umfasst ein Areal von etwa 340 mal 180 Metern, gelegen am Fuße des Rammelsbergs im Süden der Stadt Goslar, auf dem sich im Wesentlichen das Kaiserhaus, das ehemalige Kollegiatstift „St. Simon und Judas“, die Pfalzkapelle „St. Ulrich“ und die Liebfrauenkirche befinden bzw. befanden.
Das Kaiserhaus ist der größte, älteste und zugleich besterhaltene Profanbau des 11. Jahrhunderts in Deutschland und gilt als größter Profanbau seiner Zeit. Er diente insbesondere den Salierkaisern als bevorzugte Aufenthaltsstätte. Das Gebäudeensemble der Kaiserpfalz beeindruckte bereits im 11. Jahrhundert derart, dass der Chronist Lampert von Hersfeld vom „berühmtesten Wohnsitz des Reiches“ sprach.
