Die Heldburger Gangschar bezeichnet ein tertiäres Vulkansystem in den fränkischen Teilen Nordbayerns und Südthüringens. Namensgeber ist die kleine Stadt Heldburg, deren Umland, das Heldburger Land, vollständig zum nördlichen Teil der vulkanischen Zone gehört. Der Begriff Gangschar bezieht sich darauf, dass nur wenige der Vulkane heute noch als Oberflächenform erhalten sind, indes ihre einstige Aktivität durch „Gänge“ genannte Spaltenfüllungen nachgewiesen werden kann. Diese Gänge sind größtenteils in südsüdwestlicher Richtung ausgebildet, ihr Querschnitt beträgt oft weniger als einen Meter.
Die mit Abstand imposantesten der heute noch erhaltenen Vulkankegel sind die 641 und 679 m hohen Gleichberge.
