Der Berg Arem ist oft aus kilometerweiter Entfernung zu sehen, und seine Form deutet darauf hin, dass es sich um einen Vulkan in der Antike handelte. Oben (623 Meter Höhe) befindet sich eine Burgruine. Der Aremberg kann bis zum gleichnamigen Ort auf einer Höhe von etwa 530 Metern bestiegen werden. Es gibt drei Einstiege, von denen der von Antweiler im Ahrtal die schwierigste Variante ist.
