Puente del Mar (wörtlich "Meeresbrücke") war über Jahrhunderte die natürliche Route über den jetzt umgeleiteten Fluss zum Hafen. Die ursprüngliche Brücke wurde durch Überschwemmungen zerstört, und diese wurde 1591 als Ersatz dafür erbaut. Jahrhunderte später, konkret im Jahr 1933, wurde sie für Fußgänger zugänglich gemacht und elegante Treppen wurden hinzugefügt, wie sie von Javier Goerlich entworfen wurden. Puente del Mar besteht aus 10 Bögen, die jeweils 15 Meter und 50 Zentimeter lang sind. Über die gesamte Brücke findet man auch Schnitzereien der Virgen de los Desamparados, Schutzpatronin von Valencia, und San Pascual.
