Description

Der Torre de la Calahorra ( „der einsame Turm“) ist der Turm am linken Ufer des Guadalquivir am Ende der Römerbrücke Puente Romano.

Dieser Turm in Córdoba wurde 1369 im Auftrag von Enrique II. von Trastamana erbaut , um die Stadt Córdoba vor seinem Bruder Pedro I. dem Wrede zu schützen. Später im 18. Jahrhundert wurde der Turm zu einem Gefängnis und im 19. Jahrhundert wurde der Torre de la Calahorra sogar als Mädchenschule genutzt.

Heute beherbergt der Turm ein Museum und das Institut für interkulturellen Dialog.
