Das Denkmal für den Schriftsteller Ángel Ganivet (1865-1898) steht auf dem zentralen Weg des Alhambra-Waldes vor dem Tomatenbrunnen.
Das skulpturale Ensemble, das den ständigen Kampf des Menschen um die Beherrschung der Natur symbolisiert, besteht aus einer Steinbüste von Ángel Ganivet. Auf dem Sockel steht „Aan Ganivet“ unter einem halb geöffneten Granatapfel.
Vor ihr steht eine Bronzefigur eines nackten Athleten, der trotzig eine Ziege bei den Hörnern packt, als Symbol für die Dominanz der Intelligenz über das Irrationale. Ein Wasserstrahl kommt aus dem Maul der Ziege und fällt in einen Teich.
Das Werk von Juan Cristóbal wurde 1921 eingeweiht.
