Couzeix ist Teil des Arrondissements Limoges und des Kantons Limoges-Couzeix. Die Einwohner werden Couzeixois genannt.Couzeix wird von Limoges durch den Fluss Aurence getrennt. Die Nachbargemeinden von Couzeix sind Nieul im Nordwesten und Chaptelat im Nordosten, Le Palais-sur-Vienne im Südosten, Limoges im Süden sowie Saint-Gence im Westen
