Méteren ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 2.307 Einwohnern im Département Nord in der Region Hauts-de-France. Sie gehört zum Arrondissement Dunkerque, zum Kanton Bailleul sowie zum Gemeindeverband Flandre Intérieure. Die Einwohner werden Méterennois genannt.Méteren liegt nahe der belgischen Grenze im ehemaligen Französisch-Flandern, also im äußersten Norden Frankreichs. Umgeben wird Méteren von den Nachbargemeinden Godewaersvelde im Norden und Nordwesten, Berthen im Norden, Saint-Jans-Cappel im Nordosten, Bailleul im Osten und Süden, Merris im Süden und Südwesten, Strazeele im Südwesten sowie Flêtre im Westen.
