Laventie ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 4979 Einwohnern in der Region Hauts-de-France. Sie gehört zum Arrondissement Béthune im Département Pas-de-Calais sowie zum Kanton Beuvry und war bis zu dessen Auflösung 2015 Hauptort des Kantons Laventie.Am 28. Dezember 1941 ereignete sich ein schwerer Eisenbahnunfall zwischen Laventie und La Gorgue, als hier auf der Bahnstrecke Nantes–La Roche-sur-Yon zwei Züge zusammenstießen. 56 Menschen starben, 40 wurden darüber hinaus verletzt.
