Montfaucon ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 1.570 Einwohnern im Département Doubs in der Region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.Montfaucon liegt auf 510 m, etwa vier Kilometer östlich der Stadt Besançon . Das Dorf erstreckt sich im westlichen Jura an aussichtsreicher Lage auf der Jura-Randkette zwischen dem tief eingeschnittenen Doubstal im Nordwesten und dem sogenannten ersten Juraplateau im Südosten, auf der Südabdachung der Höhe von Montfaucon.
