Die Einwohner werden Joncelois genannt.Joncels liegt etwa 43 Kilometer nördlich von Béziers. Umgeben wird Joncels von den Nachbargemeinden Roqueredonde im Norden und Nordosten, Les Plans im Osten, Lunas im Süden, Avène im Westen sowie Ceilhes-et-Rocozels im Nordwesten.
