Montmorency ist eine französische Gemeinde im Département Val-d’Oise. Die Stadt liegt 13 Kilometer nördlich des Pariser Stadtkerns. Ihre Einwohner nennen sich Montmorencéens. Die Einwohnerzahl beträgt 21.723 .Auf einer ausgeprägten bewaldeten Hügelkette liegend, wurde Montmorency ab dem 17. Jahrhundert ein beliebter Ort der Sommerfrische, attraktiv auch für zahlreiche wohlhabende und berühmte Personen. Der Aufenthalt von Jean-Jacques Rousseau von April 1756 bis Juni 1762 hat die Stadt auch als literarischen Anziehungspunkt geprägt.
