Die Überreste einer Villa aus dem 4. und 5. Jahrhundert, die noch Anfang des 6. Jahrhunderts bewohnt war, wurden als Steinbruch für den Bau der Pfarrkirche verwendet. In der gallo-römischen Zeit stand an dieser Stelle eine ländliche aristokratische Residenz (Villa), die um einen großen Innengarten herum angelegt war. Zu diesem Komplex gehören ein prächtiger, 60 m² großer Saal mit mehreren Räumen und ein privates Bad. Die Qualität und das Ausmaß der Mosaiken, die die Böden der Prunkräume schmückten, machen diesen Ort so interessant.
