Die alten Gerbereien, in denen das Kunstzentrum untergebracht ist, wurden durch ein Projekt des Architekten Bruno Gaudin saniert, das die Räume und ihre Beschaffenheit respektiert. Die Volumen und Vorrichtungen sind direkt mit den industriellen Nutzungen verbunden, die sie begründet haben.
Das Kunstzentrum verfügt über umfangreiche Nutzungs- und Ausstellungsflächen: ca. 2500 m² bei einer Höhe von ~6 m und eine große Galerie von 500 m² im Obergeschoss.
Das Publikum durchläuft eine Produktionsplattform, es entdeckt Kunst, die gerade entsteht. Der Besuch ist um diese Produktion der Werke herum organisiert, er baut sich über die Begriffe Atelier und Fabrik auf, eine Aufwertung der Geste in ihrer künstlerischen, politischen und sozialen Akzeptanz.
