Nur wenige Schritte von der Abteikirche von Mouzon entfernt befindet sich eine ehemalige Abtei der Benediktinermönche. Sie wurde 971 vom Erzbischof von Reims gegründet und besteht aus drei Gebäuden: - einem Hauptgebäude (heutiges Altenheim), - einem Colombier (Tourismusbüro) - Nebengebäuden (Filzmuseum).Bis 1671 umgaben die Stadtmauern sowie ein Graben das Ganze. Bis 1789 lebten die Mönche von den Produkten der landwirtschaftlichen Flächen (vom Erzbischof gestiftet), des Waldes, der Flüsse, der Mühlen und der im Garten der Abtei angebauten aromatischen Pflanzen.Nach 1789 wurde die Einrichtung in ein ziviles Hospiz umgewandelt, der Garten blieb erhalten. Im Laufe der Zeit wird er in einen Ziergarten umgewandelt, der vom Gärtner des Altenheims gepflegt wird.
