In diesem Bereich führte er zahlreiche Ausgrabungen durch und entdeckte den sitzenden Schreiber, der hier hinter der Mariette-Statue zu sehen ist, während eine Promenade aus rotem Sand an den Sand der Wüste erinnert.
Der hockende Schreiber ist eine ägyptische Statue aus bemaltem Kalkstein, Alabaster, Steinglas und Kupfer, die einen ägyptischen Schreiber darstellt, der mit gekreuzten Beinen sitzt.
