Die Kathedrale von Lincoln ist eines der bedeutendsten Werke der englischen Gotik. Die ältesten Teile zeigen noch normannischen Baustil. Sie ist die Kathedralkirche des anglikanischen Bischofs von Lincoln.
Auf dem heute flachen Abschluss des Vierungsturms befand sich ein hölzerner Turmhelm, welcher der Kathedrale nach einer ungesicherten Überlieferung eine Gesamthöhe von ca. 160 Metern verlieh. Somit war die Kathedrale von Lincoln mehr als 200 Jahre lang das vermutlich höchste Gebäude der Welt und das erste Bauwerk, welches diesen Titel nach der Cheops-Pyramide innehatte. Sie ist für ihren Engelschor und die sogenannten „verrückten Gewölbe“ bekannt und gilt als eine der Schulen der englischen Gotik.
