Middlesbrough [ˈmɪdəlzbɹə] ist eine Großstadt und seit 1996 selbständige Unitary Authority im Nordosten Englands, die zur Zeremoniellen Grafschaft North Yorkshire gehört. Die Stadt hatte im Jahr 2018 140.545 Einwohner.
Middlesbrough befindet sich in der Region North East England am Südufer des Tees, unmittelbar vor dessen Mündung in die Nordsee. Sie ist der Mittelpunkt der industriell geprägten Konurbation Teesside, in der im Jahr 2001 gemäß Volkszählung 365.323 Menschen lebten. Die Entfernung nach London beträgt etwa 380 Kilometer.
