Redruth ist eine englische Kleinstadt im Südwesten der Grafschaft Cornwall mit 12.352 Einwohnern .
Ursprünglich war Redruth eine unbedeutende Marktstadt, bis im 18. Jahrhundert eine stark gesteigerte Nachfrage nach Kupfererz einsetzte. Redruth war von Kupfererz-Lagerstätten umgeben. Doch das in den kornischen Zinnminen gewonnene Kupfererz war bis dahin meist ungenutzt geblieben.
