Tenterden ist eine Kleinstadt im Borough of Ashford in der Grafschaft Kent in England. Sie liegt am Rand eines dichten Waldgebiets, das in England „The Weald“ genannt wird. Von Tenterden geht der Blick über das Tal des Flusses Rother. Im Jahr 2011 lebten 7.735 Einwohner auf einer Fläche von 36,19 km². Durch Tenderden führt die Fernstraße A28.
Der Stadtname ist aus dem altenglischen Wort „Tenet Waraden“ abgeleitet und bedeutet das Lager eines Mannes vom Stamm der Bewohner der Insel Thanet auf einer Lichtung.
