Die Charterhouse School ist eine traditionsreiche, elitäre Privatschule in Godalming in Surrey in England. Die Schule wurde 1611 entsprechend dem Testament des Kaufmanns Thomas Sutton an der Stelle einer ehemaligen Kartause am Charterhouse Square in Smithfield, London mit Geld aus seinem Nachlass gegründet. Auch heute noch werden die Schüler als Carthusians , die Ehemaligen als Old Carthusians oder OCs bezeichnet. Die jährliche Schulgebühr betrug 2014 für Unterricht, Unterkunft und Verpflegung 34.245 Pfund Sterling.
Die Schule wurde 1872 von London an ihren heutigen Ort in Godalming verlegt. Die vom Architekten Philip Charles Hardwick entworfenen Schulgebäude wurden auf einem Hügel oberhalb Godalmings errichtet. Neben den Hauptgebäuden wurden damals die drei Boardinghouses Saunderites, Verites und Gownboys errichtet.
