Es liegt 20 Kilometer vom Schwarzen Meer entfernt in einem namensgleichen Tal zwischen dem Großen Kaukasus und dem Bzyb-Gebirgszug. Es hat rund 150 Einwohner .
Die Mehrzahl der Einwohner ist russischer Nationalität. Das Dorf verfügt über ein kleines Wasserkraftwerk, mit dem es seinen Elektrizitätsbedarf decken kann und über einen Flugplatz mit Grasrollbahn. Er wird unregelmäßig für Touristenflüge genutzt. Nahe Pschu liegen verschiedene Hünengräber und die Ruinen einer mittelalterlichen Festung. Der nahegelegene Berg Inal-kuba ist einer der sieben heiligen Berge der Abchasier.
