Methoni , auch Modon, Modoni, Mothone oder altgr. Methone, bei Homer Pedasos) ist eine kleine griechische Hafenstadt in Messenien am südwestlichen Ende der Peloponnes mit heute etwa 2598 Einwohnern . Bis Ende 2010 war Methoni eine selbständige Gemeinde, nach Eingemeindungen seit 1997 als Stadtgemeinde . Zum 1. Januar 2011 wurde Methoni ein Gemeindebezirk der neuen Gemeinde Pylos-Nestor .
