Die Schlacht am Boyne am 1. Julijul. / 11. Juli 1690greg. ist ein entscheidendes Ereignis der irischen und nordirischen Geschichte. Am Fluss Boyne in der Nähe von Rosnaree konnte der protestantische König Wilhelm III. von England den katholischen ehemaligen König von England Jakob II. aus dem Hause Stuart besiegen und die abgefallene Insel Irland erneut unterwerfen. Die Schlacht spielt in der Erinnerungskultur der nordirischen Unionisten bis heute eine zentrale Rolle.
