Es besteht aus einem Inselbahnsteig mit einer nach Süden gerichteten Bucht. Es wird von den Dublin-Belfast "Enterprise" Schnellzügen sowie von lokalen Pendlerdiensten nach und von Dublin bedient. In einem der Stationsgebäude gibt es ein kleines Museum, das verschiedene Eisenbahnartefakte und Fotografien ausstellt.
Der ursprüngliche Bahnhof wurde am 15. Februar 1849 als Dundalk Junction eröffnet, der aktuelle Bahnhof Dundalk, 350 m nördlich, wurde im Juni 1894 eröffnet. Er erhielt am Sonntag, den 10. April 1966, den Namen Clarke zur Erinnerung an Tom Clarke, einen der hingerichteten Anführer des Ostergeschehens von 1916.
