Ardea ist eine italienische Stadt in der Metropolitanstadt Rom in der Region Latium mit 50.953 Einwohnern .
Das Gemeindegebiet von Ardea reicht von der Küste des Tyrrhenischen Meeres bis an den Rand der Albaner Berge und beinhaltet einen Teil der Pontinischen Ebene. Die Altstadt selbst liegt auf einem Tuffhügel, äußerster Ausläufer der Albaner Berge und Zeuge ihrer vulkanischen Tätigkeit. Mit der Trockenlegung der Pontinischen Sümpfe wurde die Ebene südlich der Altstadt stark besiedelt, genauso wie der Küstenstreifen mit seinem durchgehenden Sandstrand.
