Das Septizodium oder Septizonium war eine monumentale Brunnenanlage in Rom. Es wurde im Jahr 203 n. Chr. von Kaiser Septimius Severus errichtet.
Das New Topographical Dictionary of Ancient Rome macht deutlich, dass das „Septizodium“ ein ausgeklügeltes Wasserspiel ohne Räume oder Dach war: „Die oberen Stockwerke können nur mit Leitern betreten werden, und hinter dieser Fassade gibt es keinerlei Anzeichen für ein Gebäude.“
Im Mittelalter gehörte das Septizodium zum Palazzo del Settizonio der Familie Frangipani. Nach schweren Beschädigungen – unter anderem wahrscheinlich durch die Truppen Karls V. beim Sacco di Roma 1527 – wurde das Bauwerk unter Papst Sixtus V. 1588/89 abgerissen.
