Die Banca d’Italia ist die italienische Zentralbank. Sie wurde 1893 als Aktiengesellschaft gegründet, 1936 in eine Anstalt öffentlichen Rechts umgewandelt und 1981 von der Regierung unabhängig. Sie ist Mitglied des Europäischen Systems der Zentralbanken.
Neben ihren Aufgaben als Notenbank übt die Banca d’Italia auch die Bankenaufsicht in Italien aus. Darüber hinaus berät sie die nationalen Verfassungsorgane in finanzpolitischen Angelegenheiten und ist im Bereich Wirtschaftswissenschaft tätig.
