Hoensbroek ist ein Gemeindeteil der Stadt Heerlen und liegt im Südosten der Provinz Limburg in den Niederlanden. Am 1. Januar 2020 hatte der Gemeindeteil 18.915 Einwohner.Hoensbroek genannt, war bis ins 20. Jahrhundert ein kleines Dorf. 1388 wurde es von dem Herrschaftsgebiet Heerlens getrennt und Ritter Herman von Hoen verliehen, einem Stammvater des Limburger Adelsgeschlechts Hoensbroech. Nach der Familie Hoen bekam der Ort später den Namen Hoensbroek.
