Munstergeleen ist ein Ort in der Gemeinde Sittard-Geleen in der Provinz Limburg. Ab 1810 war Munstergeleen eine selbstständige Gemeinde. Die Gemeinde wurde jedoch bei den umfassenden kommunalen Neugliederungen in Limburg im Jahr 1982 aufgelöst und der ehemaligen Gemeinde Sittard angegliedert.
Der Name Munstergeleen enthält das Toponym munster, das vom lateinischen Wort monasterium abgeleitet ist, was Kloster bedeutet. Es handelt sich um ein Zisterzienserkloster, das 1253 von der Abtei Val-Dieu gegründet wurde und 1797 aufgelöst wurde. Im 19. Jahrhundert entstand eine Streusiedlung entlang einiger bestehender Straßen und in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts entstanden einige Wohngebiete, insbesondere im Südwesten und im Nordosten.
