Der Strand von IJburg ist ein großer Stadtstrand mit einigen Strandbars. Östlich des Strandes befinden sich einige sehr blühende Wiesen auf sandigem Boden. Das Gebiet, genannt Strandeiland, wird ab 2022 bebaut werden. Der Strand wird teilweise erhalten bleiben, aber die blühenden Wiesen werden verschwinden.
