Der Lake Itasca ist ein Gletscherrandsee im Nordwesten von Minnesota, USA. Er hat eine Größe von rund 4,7 Quadratkilometern und ist Quellsee des Mississippi. Lake Itasca liegt im Südwesten vom Clearwater County im Itasca State Park.
Nachdem ursprünglich der Cass Lake als Ursprung des Mississippi bestimmt wurde, wurde 1832 von Henry Rowe Schoolcraft der Lake Itasca als Quelle des Flusses entdeckt. Von dort aus fließt er 3.770 Kilometer durch die Vereinigten Staaten und mündet in den Golf von Mexiko. Der pseudo-indianische Name Itasca setzt sich aus dem Lateinischen veritas und caput zusammen und sollte Schoolcrafts Meinung nach ähnlich der Sprache der Anishinabe klingen.
