Jamoigne is a village and district in the municipality of Chiny, in the province of Luxembourg. It has about 1000 inhabitants.
Jamoigne is located in the Belgian Ardennes where the Semois and Vierre rivers meet. On the hill at the confluence stands the village church from the 16th century. The church was built around a tower that existed there, which dates back to the 11th century. Both the church and the tower were built on the remains of a Roman temple, which was dedicated to Bacchus. The only remnants of the Roman temple are still visible on a column from the 2nd century, which is adorned with vine shoots and birds.
Additionally, there is a castle in Jamoigne, Château de Faing, which dates back to the 14th century, and was a rebuild of a castle that already existed in the 12th century. The current castle has also been much renovated and restored over the centuries, but the foundation of the castle still dates from the 14th century.
