Passchendaele New British Cemetery

Passchendaele New British Cemetery is a British military cemetery containing the graves of soldiers from World War I, located in the Belgian village of Passendale. The cemetery is situated along 's Graventafelstraat, about a kilometer northwest of the village center of Passendale. The cemetery was designed by Charles Holden and is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. It has a rectangular layout covering an area of 7,246 m². At the front, along the street side, there is a monumental entrance building, with the Cross of Sacrifice centrally located behind it. A bit further stands the Stone of Remembrance. The graves are arranged in 16 plots at various levels, separated by small steps. In front of the cemetery is one of the provincial Name Stones 1914-1918, which commemorates the final offensive at Passendale.
