In 't Praetbos outside Vladslo, forsaken by God and man, lies the young Peter Kollwitz, in a mass grave of soldiers and I know no more peaceful world, of more tranquil trees, no more beautiful cathedral, to pray and to dream. You may also gather nuts, or meditate quietly, as you must present the left side if you’re going to hit your right jaw; sometimes children come to play and lovers tenderly court, for the moss is so soft there, to sleep and to cry.
