Forest chapel

The Chapel of Our Lady of Preservation of the Sick, or Boskapel, is a chapel and pilgrimage site in the Flemish Brabant village of Imde.
This chapel was built on an old pilgrimage site dating back to 1658, where according to tradition miraculous healings have occurred. It was in 1695 that the princess of Chimay, daughter of the baron of Imde, laid the foundation stone of the chapel. Due to the large number of pilgrims, the chapel was expanded in 1707 by the new lord of Impde, Prince Eugene Alexander of Turn and Tassis. His coat of arms adorns the entrance of the chapel. The chapel, with a baroque pilaster facade made of white natural stone, was further constructed with locally made Spanish bricks and is crowned by a bell-shaped top with a curved pediment. The original structure from 1695 has been integrated into the current chapel and now serves as a sacristy. The single-nave chapel features an elongated oval choir.
