On Saturday, September 10, 2005, another high day for skating began in Tollembeek. The old glory of the sport of skating was rightly brought to the attention during the unveiling of the statue at the Plaats in Tollembeek.
After the historical overview of kaatsclub "De Lustige Balspelers – Tollembeek" and some short speeches, the statue "De Kaatser" was unveiled by chairwoman Jeanine Desmecht.
There were a lot of bounce lovers present. The Mayors of Bever, Gooik and Herne were also present, as was our honorary citizen Urbanus.
The statue is by artist Ron Deblaere.
