Classicist pseudo-basilical church located on a height, in the middle of a walled garden with Liberty Tree from 1919, on the site of the original cemetery. Cast-iron fence with bluestone posts for the west façade. The old church, mentioned in the 14th century, was demolished in 1771. Current church designed by Philippus Gobert, Augustinian monk in Ghent, dated 1772 on a gable stone in the west façade on the right. The floor plan unfolds: a three-aisled nave of five bays and a three-sided closed choir of two straight bays, to the south sacristy of 1774, north façade with baptistery and storage room of 1933 designed by architect Henri Valcke. Brick construction with use of sandstone for plinth and cornerstones; west façade and tower in sandstone construction (Ledesteen) with processing of bluestone. Nave and choir in brick and sandstone construction under gable roofs (slates), to the south sacristy under snuffed gable roof of hipped roof (slates). Classicist-tinted western gable flanked by checkered corner pilasters and lined by the cornice resting on it, which runs around the central round-arched window and is marked at the ends by classicist ornamental vases. Contoured gable top surmounted by an eight-sided tower with round-arched reverberation holes and slate pearspire with baroque reminiscences. Furthermore, sleek façade composition marked by shoulder-arched door in a heavy bluestone frame with crowning drip moulding; casements on the posts and ornamentation of the twists. On either side and above, round-arched niches in bluestone, inscribed in rectangular ones with imposts and trapezoidal key, crowning drip moulding, dated in the pivots: AN / NO 17 / 72. Oculus in bluestone frame in the top. The north and south aisles and choir are rhythmed by segmental arched windows, set in bluestone frames; continuous lintels and lintels. Concealed choir closure. Central nave rhythmed by round-arched arcades on Tuscan columns; nave and aisles covered by Bohemian caps between belt arches on rococo consoles. Painting and marbling of the interior, 1785. Marble high altar from the Jesuit church of Ghent, 1623, originally with painting by Rubens, "The Martyrdom of Saint Livinus", which is now in Brussels. Marble side altars (1773), with wooden crowning (1774) with paintings by Daniel Herreyns (Mechelen), namely "The Assumption of Mary" (1774) and "Saint Roch and the Plague Sufferers" (1783); communion rail (1773); confessionals (1774); pulpit, 1779, from the workshop of Reraux (Dendermonde) with marble bas-relief, 1780; baptismal font, 1862, by stonemason Van Assche (Dendermonde); choir stalls, 1869, by Dumon (Bruges). Organ, 1776, by Van Peteghem. Stations of the Cross, 1871, by Anseele (Ghent).
