Navigation advice Route 3: Korbeek-Dijle - Oud-Heverlee (GREEN)

This route is suitable for paddlers with limited experience.
» Avoid disturbing bank zones and water plants. Outside of the
departure and arrival points, it is prohibited to disembark.
» A VTS-initiator canoe/kayak certificate or equivalent
is recommended for guides.
» Be careful near the automatic weir of the controlled
flood area in Egenhoven. It is forbidden to navigate near the
weir when it is raised (during high water or maintenance)
or to navigate on a floodplain. Upstream of the tunnels under
the E40, there is an information board with a warning signal. If the light
on the information board is on, the weir is raised and you must disembark at the
next docking point (immediately to the right behind the tunnels under the E40).
» Navigating is prohibited half an hour after sunset until sunrise.
Take into account the travel time to the next docking point and leave
the water in good time.
