Priorij van Corsendonck is definitely worth a visit. We must go back to 1393 for the distant origin of the Priorij van
Corsendonk. At that time, the noble Maria of Gelre hoped to gain a place in heaven by donating a substantial piece of land to the church. In 1395, the regular canons of Saint Augustine built their abbey there. Today, only the northern wing of the former monastery remains. The cellar with beautiful vaults has also been preserved. In 1785, Joseph II closed the monastery. From the last quarter of the 20th century, the former priory was gradually restored and converted into a conference space and hotel. It is in vain to look for a brewery that brews the eponymous delicious beer. For that, you have to go all the way to Brouwerij Bios in Ertvelde (East Flanders).
