Zennepark

The Zennepark (2016) is located on the former, original bed of the Zenne and extends further across the Masuistraat. Previously, this was a long, vacant area along the back of old industrial buildings. After the remediation of the heavily contaminated soil, the promenade received a light finish in wood and concrete. The playgrounds, picnic areas, and collective vegetable gardens are meant to provide breathing space for this underprivileged, densely populated neighborhood. Once the Zennepark is completed, it will form a green ribbon of 1.6 km from the Noordwijk to the Royal Domain of Laeken, across the canal. Walkers and cyclists will be able to make their way through this busy, car-dominated district relatively unhindered. However, safe and comfortable crossing points must first be established where the park intersects the streets.

→ When the Zennepark is open: walk through it and turn left at the end. Walk 50 meters to the first street corner. When the park is closed: at the next street corner, turn right onto Jollystraat and follow it to the little square.
