Hedge of mainly hawthorn, blackthorn, slippery elm. This landscape feature is a refuge for rare butterflies such as the blackthorn page and the elm page, which lay their eggs here on blackthorn and slippery elm respectively. On the other side of the path is an impressive row of pollard willows. The southernmost specimens have died but are hotspots for enormous biodiversity, dependent on dead wood.
