Saint Amandus Church

This beautiful white church, rather insignificant in architectural terms, was once the auxiliary chapel of the parish of Aspelare, under which Nederhasselt previously fell. The original simple late Romanesque hall church was enlarged in the 15^th century with a side aisle and a small bell tower. After being elevated to an independent parish church in 1803, it was expanded with two new side aisles due to lack of space. The church, steps, and fencing are protected as a monument. Inside you won't find great church treasures, but rather a tranquil interior with beautiful stained glass windows and murals of, among others, the four evangelists.
