The chapel of the Sacred Heart in Weisten, a result of perseverance.

The village of Weisten, which belongs to the municipality of Burg-Reuland but to the parish of Neundorf-Crombach, owes its chapel to the determination of its inhabitants. At the end of the 19th century, the construction was demanded and also paid for by the population. It is a simple, lovingly arranged church. Above the portal, the year 1885 is inscribed, and on the white wall hangs a cross in the style of rural folk art.

The chapel is dedicated to the heart of Jesus, whose representation along with St. Medardus adorns the altar. The cult of this miraculous bishop from the Gallo-Franconian nobility was widespread in the Middle Ages, especially among farmers and winemakers. His feast day on June 8 was considered a lucky day for the weather. Statues of the Virgin and Child crushing a snake and St. Pancratius are located on the side walls. One detail: There is also a small oven in the chapel, reminiscent of the harsh Eifel winters. In 1984, the 100th anniversary of the chapel was celebrated in Weisten.

Also notice the peculiar tabernacle that is clearly intended to display the names of the members of a religious community.
