The oh! Garden is a charming little neighborhood park.
The old garden of the old OVAM building has been redesigned and made accessible. A small stream was discovered during the works . This was integrated into the garden. The OVAM building has been converted into a business center (Oh!) for the creation of freelancers. Hence the name Oh!
The park opened in 2012.
Up until the beginning of the 20th century large and small extensions could be found all over Mechelen . These were created after strengthening the swamp area around the Dyle, where the center of Mechelen is today. As Mechelen grew and industrialized, the various streams became open sewers. This was a source of epidemics and it was decided to fill much of these waterways.
The municipality of Mechelen is currently busy finding and reconstructing the exact location of the various streams.
