Viewpoint over the ring pond of the nature reserve De Luysterborg
The ring pond of De Luysterborg is a valuable water feature with many aquatic plants and dragonflies. The rare crested newt also feels at home here. The older forest parcels of De Luysterborg are particularly characterized by the old, thick pedunculate oaks. These mixed forests are beautifully structured, with many native trees (especially pedunculate oaks, birches, and Scots pines), a rich undergrowth (of bushes, ferns, and blackberries), and plenty of dead wood. A paradise for woodpeckers and treecreepers!
