The steel book is a tribute to the local history and literature that the Semois Valley has inspired.
Made entirely of steel (often with a deliberate layer of rust or patina that complements the natural surroundings), it is a work by the young artist and blacksmith Logan Maqua , who also has his studio in Corbion .
The book symbolizes the transmission of stories . Corbion has a strong connection to literature: Paul Verlaine, the famous French poet, stayed in Corbion and wrote about the melancholy of the landscape. It is an open book with a written page on the left, representing the past, and a page on the right, leaving room for additions, the future.
The text is a fragment from Verlaine's collection Sagesse (1880).
